SENSOCELL has been presented at the Most Advanced Exhibition for Scientific/ Analytical Systems and Solutions in Japan: JASIS , the JApan Analitical & Scientific Instrument Show. The JASIS WebExpo remains open until March 2022. If interested in information about SENSOCELL in Japanese, the online exhibition makes possible to access anytime from anywhere.
Delighted to share a new publication recently released that shows another interesting application of SENSOCELL.
In this work, Dr Ahmed et al. analyze the dynamics of a passive colloidal probe immersed in an active bath using Optical tweezers in combination with our force spectroscopy technology .
If you are interested in soft condensed matter and nonlinear rheology do not miss it ! .
Finally! The latest paper from the Neurophotonics & Mechanical Systems Biology group at ICFO has been published in SCIENCE ADVANCES. In this work entitled “An asymmetric mechanical code ciphers curvature-dependent proprioceptor activity”, the mechanical activation of neuronal activity in C. elegans is studied by means of genome editing, modelling and direct force spectroscopy integrated in SENSOCELL optical tweezers.
In this work the authors describe in detail a protocol using SENSOCELL optical tweezers to interrogate the mechanical properties of the cell nucleus inside living cells and that can be extended to the study of other subcellular compartments and organelles. As a representative result, the authors used DNA-Hoechst staining to measure the nucleus deformation upon indentation performed by forces of the order of several hundreds of pN.
In the recent review by Stella Corsetti and Kishan Dholakia: “Optical manipulation: advances for biophotonics in the 21st century”, the IMPETUX’s exclusive technology to measure forces inside living cells and tissues has been considered one of the key advances in the field of optical manipulation of the last decade.

We are excited about giving a talk at the next N4M 2022 conference. There, we will show the unique possibilities of our direct force spectroscopy technology and show plenty of colorful application examples of SENSOCELL optical tweezers in Cell Mechanobiology research. Looking forward to it!
IMPETUX has been kindly invited to participate at the conference: AQV DAYS 2022 : QUANTITATIVE APPROACHES TO LIVING SYSTEMS organized by the Institute Jacques Monod (France). There, we will be able to meet researchers tackling biological questions with methods coming from physics, chemistry, engineering or other sciences. And, don’t tell anybody, but there will be a live demo session of our SENSOCELL system during the conference!
